Studio Magic 816 New & Improve

This blog will be about the journey of growing my art, both skilled based as well as professionally.

I have studied and practice art, on & off for about 10 years, both in high school and college. I received my bachelors degree in Urban Studies; Community Development and a minor in visual arts. When I first discovered my love for art I told myself I would only use it as a stress reliever and never pursue a job for art because it shouldn't be based off of money. Eight years later I had a new revelation. In March I had an injury that caused me to dislocate my shoulder. Because a pandemic plagued us only a few days later it delayed my surgery causing my elbow to lock up and losing all feeling in my right arm, from my shoulder to my fingertips for months. Between being injured and a pandemic I became depressed. Not being able to hold a pen, let a lone write your name was my breaking point. While sulking in my pain and depression I had an epiphany. I had been taking the gift God gave me for granted. I always had been a decent artist but only the people closes to me knew. After physical therapy and surgery.... yes I had to do physical therapy before I could get surgery my goal was to be able to get back to painting and making it an everyday thing in my life. As I healed I practiced on my skills and utilizing new media such as water color paint. By Aug 15th, Nipsey Hu$$le's Cday, I decided why not brand my art work and put it out for the world to see. I have been working on more art work and collaborating with other artist in Kansas City. I am excited to see where it will take me and hope you guys enjoy the journey. #BeInspired #StudioMagic816 #Pray&Paint
